Capacity Building and Development Manager
Robin Slutsky
rslutsky@kirklandartscenter.org
Robin is a career fundraising professional with more than 25 years of nonprofit development experience. She holds a Masters in Nonprofit Management and has worked with a broad variety of nonprofits across the country. She is most gratified by the work she has done in the creative community in South Bend, IN, Denver, CO and Seattle.
In Indiana, Robin was an arts and entertainment reporter covering the Midwest for the South Bend Tribune. Additionally, she worked as the marketing and development manager for Downtown South Bend, IN, a private-public partnership with the City of South Bend. Here she ran their popular, two-day, non-juried arts festival.
Moving to Denver, Robin opened a nonprofit consultancy. Some of her clients included the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Palmer Lake Arts Center. Both organizations hired her to facilitate their art festivals. The first was a well-established, national, juried arts festival. The latter was an inaugural show featuring area artists.
Upon her relocation to Seattle, Robin worked as a contractor with the Frye Art Museum and the Bellevue Arts Museum. Over the course of her career here, she wrote grants to the City of Seattle’s Office of Arts and Culture, it’s Department of Neighborhoods, and 4Culture among other art funders. She also has written grants to the National Endowment for the Arts for a museum in Denver.
While not a visual artist herself, her mother is a painter, and her daughter is a ceramic artist. She wishes the family talent didn’t skip a generation.
She has called Kirkland home for the last five years and is excited to help KAC remain an amazing community asset.
